The Domestic Abuse Council of Volusia County, Inc. received a gift from Mohawk Industries, Calhoun, GA NYSE:MHK.

“Everyone wants their home to look nice. Our emergency shelter is home to individuals and families fleeing from unsafe environments. The carpet in the shelter has not been replaced in over 10 years and is in need of being replaced. This gift of new carpet will give us a new cleaner, happier look,” Cheryl Fuller, CEO of the Domestic Abuse Council said.

Mohawk Industries donated over 624 square yards of commercial grade loop carpet with a retail value exceeding $15,000.00. According to Fuller, the agency has funds for programs but rarely receives money for upkeep and maintenance.

“I am glad it is going to a good cause and it will benefit many people,” Sheri Ponders with the Special Goods Department at Mohawk Industries said in an email.
