About Us

Domestic Abuse Center

What We Do

At the Domestic Abuse Council of Volusia County, our purpose is to provide life-saving support and services to individuals and families escaping domestic violence. We offer:

  • Emergency shelter in a secured, undisclosed location

  • 24-hour crisis hotline for immediate support

  • Advocacy and case management to help survivors navigate their next steps

  • Support groups and safety planning tailored to each survivor’s needs

  • Court accompaniment and assistance with Injunctions for Protection

  • Free legal representation in child welfare and protection cases

  • Education and prevention programs for children and youth

Our “Hugs & Love” program supports every child who enters our shelter with advocacy, case management, and safety assessments—helping them feel safe, heard, and supported during a critical time.

All services provided by the Domestic Abuse Council are free of charge and completely confidential.
