Chi Sigma Iota (CSI) is the international honor society of professional counseling that values academic
and professional excellence in counseling. We promote a strong professional identity through members
who contribute to the realization of a healthy society by fostering wellness and human dignity. Our
mission is to encourage scholarship, research, professionalism, leadership, advocacy and excellence in
counseling.
“As future counselors, we see the importance in providing support and advocacy for disenfranchised
populations. Thus this fall we decided to be proactive in helping a local organization, the Domestic
Abuse Council, by holding a supply drive,” Chrisstyjo Favale, Stetson University CSI member.
Throughout the past three months we have encouraged students, friends, family, and community
members to donate materials needed by women and children. These items include gently used clothing,
toiletries, books, toys, and recycled cell phones. Through collective efforts we were able to accumulate
over a hundred articles of clothing, a myriad of health products, and plenty of toys for families in need.
We look forward to continuing our collaboration with the Domestic Abuse Council, and plan to
continue the supply drive throughout this school year.
“We really enjoyed helping out, and plan to continue in the spring!” Favale said.
